Transforming a very tired one bedroom flat into a three bedroom, two bathroom duplex apartment.

We created a new floor within the loft space, with each room flooded by light through the cleverly positioned sky lights. In order to preserve the original Edwardian house, the old ceiling was lowered to make room for the new floor. This was so not to disrupt the external look of the house within the conservation area it sits.

Transforming a distressed apartment from a two bedroom, one bathroom; to a two bedroom, each with an en suite. With little storage, awkward living spaces and a soil pipe that ran directly in front of the large bay windows, it was initially a chaotic looking flat. The work involved relocating the soil pipe  within a new stud wall and a cleverly designed window seat in the open plan living area. This added additional seating and storage space to the apartment whilst allowing the original bay window to be the focal point of the room.

The end result was a boutique 'hotel style' apartment, with a minimalist design.

I had the privilege of seeing the 'before' and 'after' on this delightful remodelling project on Second Avenue in Hove. Sophia's interior design talents transformed the apartment to a beautiful contemporary living space, reinstating period features and achieving a truly stunning end result. She employed a very clever and creative use of space, maximising storage areas whilst preserving the footprint.  Of the many great additions and alterations achieved, a favourite of mine is the newly added window seat area in the living room which creates a wonderful focal point.

It's a frequent disappointment when apartments are redeveloped and the quality of components and finishing let it down. Not so with this project, Sophia used high quality fixtures and fittings, beautifully complementing the prestigious period Villa. A complete 'gutting and starting again' project delivered on time, on budget - to the highest quality. Well done Sophia!
